Get ready to explore ancient China like never before! The upcoming open-world action RPG Where Winds Meet is holding a special closed beta test from May 16 to May 19, 2025. This test is only for players on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC, and it’s a chance to try the game before its global release later this year.
The game is made by Everstone Studio, a team from China, and is set in a beautiful world inspired by Chinese mythology and history. You play as a young swordsman during the time of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, using weapons like dual blades, glaives, umbrellas, and even your hands with moves from martial arts like Tai Chi.
To join the beta, players need to sign up on the official website before May 15. You must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States, Canada, Japan, or South Korea. Sorry, players in Europe and other regions can’t join this beta test for now.
Signing up is easy. Just log in with Google or Facebook, pick your preferred language (English, Japanese, or Korean), and answer a few questions about your gaming habits. If chosen, you’ll get an email with beta access. PC players will be added to a special list, while PS5 players will get a code.
The beta supports controller gameplay on both PC and PS5, and players are free to stream, take screenshots, or share their experience online. However, your progress won’t carry over to the full game once it launches.
Everstone Studio also shared the PC system requirements. For example, to play at a basic level, you’ll need a GTX 750 Ti graphics card and 8GB RAM. To enjoy the game at higher settings, you’ll need a much more powerful PC. The download size is big—up to 100GB—so an SSD is recommended.
If you want bonus rewards, you can pre-register, add the game to your wishlist, or join the official Discord. Doing tasks like following the game on social media or inviting friends can unlock items like special accessories or healing items when the game launches.
This is the second beta for Where Winds Meet, after the first one held in 2024. The full version will include both single-player and multiplayer modes, with a huge open world full of cities, nature, and hidden events. In multiplayer, players can even help each other by healing wounds or working together during random disasters like fires or falling meteorites.
Where Winds Meet will launch worldwide for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store sometime in 2025. If you love martial arts, Chinese legends, or open-world adventures, this is a game you won’t want to miss.
