Marvel Rivals fans, get ready for some exciting updates! The popular superhero game by NetEase Games is getting a mid-season update with lots of cool changes. Right now, the game is in its second season, which started on April 11, 2025. Season 2 brought new maps, characters, and amazing skins based on the famous Hellfire Gala event from Marvel comics.
One of the biggest new things was the map based on Krakoa, the land of the mutants. Players also welcomed Emma Frost as the new Vanguard hero. On top of that, many heroes got new colorful skins like Doctor Strange and Peni Parker, and players can now change the colors of outfits for characters like Winter Soldier, Luna Snow, Magik, and Psylocke.
Now, as we reach the middle of Season 2, the developers are getting ready to make the game even better. In a recent talk, they said that some heroes will get stronger. Strategists will have more ways to help their teams win. Groot and Captain America will become a little easier to defeat because their survivability will be lowered. Spider-Man’s Amazing Combo will do slightly less damage, and Doctor Strange will use less energy to perform his ultimate move.

The update will also make some changes to Team-Up abilities. For example, Winter Soldier’s Tainted Voltage will get a little boost to make it stronger. Even though the developers did not share all the details yet, they said they are trying to fix small problems without changing the whole game too much. They also confirmed that Ultron will be the next character joining the Marvel Rivals team!
Another big change coming is to the performance rating system. Right now, some types of heroes, like Duelists, are doing better than others when it comes to ratings. The new system will be more fair and will give every player, no matter what hero they choose, a better chance at getting a high rating.
The developers promised that once this mid-season patch is out, they will watch closely and think about making even bigger balance changes in the future if needed.
